Bel Mar Shores boundaries are Spring Lake Dr. to the north, Old Tampa Bay to the west, South Westshore to the east and Eulclid Ave to the south. [2] The neighborhood is part of the South Tampa district.

As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 421 people and 181 households residing in the neighborhood. The population density was 4,683/mi². The racial makeup of the neighborhood was 97% White, 0% African American, 0% Native American, 2% Asian, 5% from other races, and 1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5% of the population.
There were 68 households out of which 29% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56% were married couples living together, 5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 8% were non-families. 28% of all households were made up of individuals.
